All students need an instrument.
Proper accessories: valve oil, slide oil, cork grease, cleaning rag, swab, reeds, lesson book.
A decent attitude helps, as well. |

Is pep band required? Yes. For the Sr. High Band. No, for the Jr. High Band. However, it is highly recommended for the Jr. High Band. Those who attend regular season games will be traveling to playoff games.
Are there valid excuses for missing pep band? Yes, death in the family, illness. NON VALID EXCUSES: Ice fishing, hunting, professional concerts, birthday parties and sleepovers, shopping, trick or treating, cousin's last hockey game, college and pro sports games, attending athletic events in another sport while one of our teams is playing, snowmobiling and the list goes on.... These are actual excuses people have given.
Is attendance required at concerts? Yes. The experience cannot be made up. There is nothing that can take the place of a live performance. Attendance is also required at the Large Group band contest. |
